We've been busy...

Hello friends,

I know we have been slack of late with the blog posts. For that we apologise. But a lot has been happening! Anne welcomed baby Nigh into the world, Kerrie is only a few weeks away from her new bundle arriving, and we have been preparing for the markets at the Northcote town hall. We will be there this Saturday, so come and say hi if you are around.

Also, some of our products are now available online at Big Cartel – click this link to see the page. It's just a start... we hope to expand the range available if it works out.

We also wanted to tell everyone about a new book that is coming out in August that will feature Little Soursob. It's called Handmade in Melbourne and we are very excited to be involved. Keep an eye out for it in stores from August.

Much love to everyone,

Anne and Kerrie

Sewer Needed!

Considering the impending birth of our children, and the word spreading about Little Soursob (for which we are both pleased and grateful) , we are in need of a helping hand. We are looking for an experienced sewer to complete pre-cut pieces for our dolls and bibs. If you are, or you know anyone who is, an experienced sewer with some free hours in the week, we would love to hear from you. We will pay for your time, but cannot promise a fortune.

Email littlesoursob@gmail.com to express interest, or find out more.

With thanks,

Anne and Kerrie.

It's been a while...

Hello, and happy new year to our friends (yes, this message has been a while coming).

The year has started off a little manic, but then, we should be used to that by now. Both of us are expecting our second-borns, magically (again) at around the same time, and not too far away. It's exciting and scary. We are both furiously sewing, weaving and creating before we have to put the needles away in turn for the newborn bubs.

Kerrie has been inventing new wild and wonderful things to complement our range, including framed animal heads (beautifully fake, of course) in the same vein as the framed bug specimens. Her Ned Kelly creations have been well-received, and we are thrilled that people are embracing products that represent our country's history.

Anne is still working away at her new Earth Mumma dolls, inspired by the women in her life who support and protect her. When you become a mother, your appreciation for anything organic and earthly is heightened, and you are amazed and strengthened by the women in your life who support one another, no questions asked.

With our first babes growing at a rapid rate, we delight in seeing their interests change and develop. And as they do, they alert us to new things, many of which hold some spark of an idea, or creative inspiration. We're not only designing for newborns anymore, we have a new range of interests to work with. We look forward to seeing it develop... who knows which way our pencil will turn.

The Little Soursob catalogue is about to do the rounds of Melbourne stores, and hopefully (fingers and stitches crossed) you will soon be able to buy a Little Soursob gift by just walking down the street to your local boutique, craft shop or shopping strip.

For everyone's support, guidance and feedback, we are grateful, and encourage it to continue!

With love,

Anne and Kerrie.

Seasons come, and seasons go...

Hello friends,
It has been a big year for Little Soursob, and a year that seems to have come to an end well before we've caught up with it. Nevertheless, on we stitch into 2009.

This year, we have developed our product range with new inspirations. Ned Kelly has made an appearance, and we have taken to scouring the neighbourhood for twigs to create our framed insect specimens that look just like the real ones (just slightly less creepy, and cruel). Another new addition, Earth Mumma, has come along to look after everyone, and we love having her around. Especially when things get a bit too much.

As our babes sleep, we'll continue to stitch and stuff. And we hope you like what we make.

Thank you to everyone for their unending support and feedback. Without it, the faces of Giselle, the feathers of Goosey, the spine of Dino and the twiggy life of our insect specimens would not have the life they have. And our quilts, bibs and blankets would only be seen in our humble homes. But that's not nearly as fulfilling.

Best wishes for a safe 2009 filled with love.

Check us out!

Hello friends,
Thank you all for your support at the markets. We had a successful few weeks, and look forward to whatever comes next with our renewed confidence. We've been busy creating an extensive range of products and a catalogue to show them off, so hopefully soon you'll see us spread wider around the country... fingers (and sewing needles) crossed. In the meantime, scroll down to see our products, descriptions and prices. Feedback is, as always, very welcome.
With love, Anne and Kerrie.

P.S. We were featured in MAG - the music magazine in JB Hi Fi, General Pants and many cafes around the country.
